The 1st Online Scottish Allegro and Lightning Tournament

Saturday 20th June, 2020 5 round of Allego Chess Starting at 10am Sunday 21st June, 9 rounds of lightning Chess starting at 1pm

Online Scottish Allegro Entry closes at 9:30am, Lightning remains open until midnight

Allego games will be graded on the Chess Scotland Allegro grading system. Standard grades will be used for pairing

Draws to be done using Swiss Manager. Please join the Chess Scotland club in Lichess

Rules for both tournaments

Entrants must be current members of Chess Scotland to play

Scottish titles will only be awarded to players who have satisfied Scottish eligibility conditions and have a FIDE registration with Scotland. Any eligible player must also be a member of Chess Scotland.

Players must join the Lichess.org Chess Scotland Club as in tournament communications will be made there. https://lichess.org/team/chess-scotland

Pairing will be posted on Chess-Results.com. Real names and Lichess handles will be displayed in the pairing.

Chess Scotland Allegro Grades will be used for the pairing which will be done using Swiss manager.

Player playing white challenges player playing black when the draw is made.

Byes may be requested, final round byes will score 0 points

Time Control

Allegro 25 minutes + 5 second increment
Lightning 5 Minutes + 3 seconds increment

Allegro
Round 1 – 10:00am
Round 2 – 11:00am
Round 3 – 12:00pm
Round 4 – 2:00pm
Round 5 – 3:00pm

Lightning, we will play continuously starting each round as the previous one finishes

Prize money will be dependent on entries, see the entry form on the Chess Scotland website for details

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

  • In all disputes the decision of the Congress Controllers is final.
  • No player may win more than one prize per tournament.
  • Players without a current grading must indicate on the entry form their best previous results or any grading ever held.
  • Games will be screened using the FIDE screening tool as well as using the server anti cheating methods. Anyone found using computer assistance will have their results annuled and will be banned from future online tournaments. Please see the entry form about Fair play regulations for online play.
  • Ungraded players are not eligible for grading prizes.
Note that if you request a bye in the last round it will get zero points.
