The Monarchs & Knights section's will be ECF rated.
The Pawns section is for new players as an introduction to chess and will not be rated.
All sections open to any child aged 18 and under, Monarchs for advanced players, Knights for intermediates and Pawns section for children new to the game.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
- All players in the Monarch's and Knight's sections MUST have a valid and up to date ECF Junior Gold membership or otherwise must pay the extra game fee surcharge.
- Players in the Pawns section have no requirement to join the ECF as this section is unrated. Therefore there is no need to pay the ECF £15 surcharge if playing in the Pawns section. - If you are not an ECF member paypal will try to charge £15 extra, to avoid this just for those in the pawns section, choose the direct bank transfer option, and just send £5.

- Once the entry form is filled in this website will send you to PayPal to complete payment.
You may also choose to pay via Bank Transfer.
Pairings
- All boards in all sections will play using digital clocks at a rate of 15 minutes each with 5 seconds added per move.
Rating
- The September 2024 ECF Rapid Play Rating List will be used to determine a player's rating.
Other Information
- There is free parking at the venue.
- A seating area will be available for parents to use.
- The school may provide some basic light refreshments, you may also bring along a packed lunch.
Parental responsibility
- Parents are responsible for their children during the tournament, the tournament arbiters and helpers are not to act as "In loco parentis" and are not able to take responsibility for any child's actions. Or for the actions of anyone that may affect your child.
