This event is a qualifying tournament for the LJCC Under 8 and Under 12 Finals held after Christmas. It is the final chance in the list of qualifiers for U8 and U12 finals. If you have already qualified, please enter here
Age restrictions: Ages are calculated on 31st August 2026, i.e. Under 8 is for school year 3 or younger, Under 12 is for school year 7 or younger.
All games will be ECF Rapidplay rated

Please enter early, late entries will be subject to additional late fees and entries on the day subject to discretion of Chief Arbiter
All moves in 20 minutes each plus 10 seconds added per move.
Please arrive by 9.45am in plenty of time to start the first round promptly.

This event is a qualifying tournament for the LJCC Under 12 Finals to be held on 28, 29 and 30 December and Under 8 Finals to be held on 29 and 30 December.
Three and a half points will qualify for the U12 Minor Finals and four and a half points will qualify for the U12 Major Finals. Four points in the U8 section will qualify for the U8 Finals
We hope canteen facilities will be open for breakfast from 9 am and will serve until 4pm each day. Vending machines are available.
The December ECF Rapidplay rating list will be used to determine players' ratings
All results will be sent for Rapidplay rating with the ECF
Cash prizes and trophies in all sections.
All pairings will be done using swiss-manager software and displayed on chess-results.com.
Digital clocks will be used in all sections and help will be given to anyone unfamiliar with them.
Re-pairing time is 5 minutes
LJCC is grateful to the University for the use of their facilities. Please treat the premises with respect and follow all signs and rules as requested.
A high standard of behaviour and respect for others and property is expected at all times. Players leaving the playing area while other games are in progress should do so quietly and should not return to the playing area after their game is finished.
LJCC and its officials are unable to act in loco parentis for children. Parents/guardians/carers are responsible for their children throughout the entire duration of this event.
LJCC has adopted the ECF Safeguarding policy which can be found on the ECF website.
