    CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

    • PLEASE TRY A DIFFERENT BROWSER IF EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL ISSUES WHEN REGISTERING!

      Pairings

    • In all sections players will be paired using Swiss-Manager. Pairings will be posted at the venue. No discussion will be entered into concerning the pairings.
    • All boards in all sections will play using digital clocks at a rate of 25 minutes and no increments.
    • Nobody gets knocked out and players are expected to play all five rounds.
    • If a player needs to leave early, please inform the controllers prior to leaving or upon your arrival if possible.

      Rating

    • The February ECF Rapid Play Rating List will be used to determine a player's rating. All Players MUST be ECF Registered prior to Entry Acceptance. PLEASE REGISTER YOUR CHILD ON THE ECF (ENGLISH CHESS FEDERATION) WEBSITE (ECF Registration will be Free for "new" juniors registering with the ECF for the first time - see link to ECF site at bottom of this page
    • Rating Information - It is a condition of entry that players agree to their rating information being published on the ECF website.

      Other Information

    • No player may win more than one prize. In all sections, in the event of a tie for first place, players will be split and the trophy awarded to the winner after tie breaks are used.
    • Parents may stay with Children were necessary but it is preferred that older juniors who are part of a school or team stay with their nominated TEAM manager.
    • Parking is extremely limited and will mainly be offsite for those staying for the day.
    • All mobile phones / alarms must be turned off and not on your person during play.
    • Refreshments/snacks WILL be available at the venue as we managed to find someone willing to sell refreshments on the day, such as hot and cold drinks, cakes, sandwiches. Juniors are expected to bring lunch packs. 
    • A day or two before the event we will email all entrants players details and other useful information, please check your details are correct and let us know of any errors or emissions.
    • Disputes must be resolved before a player leaves the tournament hall and in all cases the decision of the arbiter is final.
