NEJCA is pleased to announce the 2024 Albyn Trophy over the board event. This event is open to all young people attending school in Scotland. The player’s current (live) grade on Chess Scotland Allegro list will be used as a guide to what section should be entered. New players will be entered into the list based on the details they supply.

All games will be graded on the Chess Scotland Allegro list.

Albyn Championship Cup - To any junior player graded or ungraded (School of Winner will display the Albyn Championship Trophy for One Year)

Albyn Intermediate Shield (Boys and Girls Individual Shields) - Ungraded or graded 750 or below (Schools of Winners will display the Albyn Intermediate Shields for One Year)

Albyn Junior Shield (Boys and Girls Individual Shields) - For Primary School pupils who are ungraded or graded 300 or below (Schools of Winners will display the Albyn Junior Shields for One Year)

Three individual trophies or medals per section + others dependent on entries. Depending on numbers, the two Girls' events may be combined or run in association with the appropriate Boys' event.

20 mins + 5 sec increment per move per player

Please use the online entry page ('Enter' tab above) to add your entry, then use the Pay button to pay by Paypal. Entries will be automatically entered onto the Entries page when the payment has been accepted.

There is no fee for participants who claim free school meals. If you wish to claim free entry, please fill out the form, and instead of pressing the pay button at the end, let us know via the contact page that you have filled out the form.

Please mention your child's school name and year in the relevant entry box within the form.
