Prizes

There is a trophy for first prize.

Every player receives minimum of certificate, pairing card and a chess badge.

As players score more points they gain prizes, such as badges and mascots etc.

Rate of Play

Each player will have 10 minutes plus a 5 second increment per move from move 1.

Timings are estimates and we aim to run rounds 1 to 4 and 5 to 7 with a small break in between.

Venue

Prospect House is in the centre of Leyland, a short distance behind the main Tesco.
The venue is only 10 minutes from the M6 Exit 28.
A kitchen is available with a kettle for tea/coffee etc which is free of charge.

Directions
Exit the motorway at junction 28, turn left (from north or south) towards Leyland. At the double roundabout, by the Tesco Express, take the first left onto Canberra Road. Take the third right onto Broadway and cross Balcarras Road. Broad Square is on your right. At the end of Broadway, turn left at the corner onto Sandy Lane. Prospect House is about halfway down on your Right.
There is limited parking, street parking is available on Broad Square. Please allow plenty of time for parking.
There are various bus routes in Leyland and a path runs behind Prospect House to the rear of Tesco.
The Railway Station is about 20 minutes walk away.

Parent Respomsibility

Organisers and arbiters will only take responsibility for children in the playing area, during their games. Outside of the playing area, parents must take responsibility for their children. This means parents/guardians should stay or ask another parent to look after your child.
