Here is your opportunity to challenge the British U2000 Rapid champion (Steve Crow), who has entered the U1900 section!

Round 1: 10:00 to 11:00
Round 2: 11:15 to 12:15
Round 3: 12:30 to 13:30
Round 4: 13:45 to 14:45
Round 5: 15:00 to 16:00
Round 6: 16:15 to 17:15

ENTRY FEES

  • £20 (£14 juniors*), if Gold or higher ECF membership
  • £35 (£20 juniors*), if Bronze ECF membership or not a member
  • Requests for refunds online payments accepted up to 29/12/2024 (refund will be amount paid minus transaction fee).

*Junior < 18yrs on the day

FORMAT

6-round Swiss with four sections (all games FIDE and ECF rated):

  1. FIDE Rated Open
  2. FIDE Rated u1900, open to players with FIDE AND ECF ratings below 1900
  3. FIDE Rated u1600, open to players with FIDE AND ECF ratings below 1600
  4. FIDE Rated u1300, open to players with FIDE AND ECF ratings below 1300

Rules for ranking and placement in groups, in order:

  1. Where player has no FIDE rapid rating, FIDE standard rating applies.
  2. ECF rapid rating minimum 10 games, otherwise most recent standard grade will be used.
  3. If a player has a FIDE and a ECF rating, the highest grade will be used for ranking and placement in the groups.

For any entrant without a FIDE ID (FIN), you will be registered as ENG after the tournament. If you do not wish this to happen, you must be registered with another federation BEFORE playing.

Players without a current FIDE or ECF rating must give details of estimated playing strength, including any previously held grading, or current grading from another body.

Player can request to play in a higher section. The organiser reserves the right to move players between sections.

TIME CONTROL

20mins + 10 sec increment from move 1.

PRIZES

  • Per section: 1st place £200, 2nd place £100, 3rd place £50
  • 1st Performance prize £30, 2nd performance prize £20

All place prize money will be shared equally between tied players.

Performance prizes for the highest W-We score, amongst players who haven’t won a place prize. Players without a rating are not eligible for a performance prize.

No player may win more than one money prize.

Junior Trophy is awarded to the junior who scores highest number of points in any section.

Spot prizes for best performance (W-We) in some of the rounds.

We reserve the right to alter any and all prize money if entries fall below the expected level.
