Four Sections
Three London Junior Chess Championships Qualifying Sections (LJCCQ); U12, U10 and U8
A Major section for U12-U18 with a rating up to 2000 ECF, with a prize fund of £200 and games will be played on liveboards and possibly broadcast live to the internet:

* Top Girl Prizes require a minimum of four girls in the section to guarantee that section's girls prize to be awarded. This is subject to overall number of entries.
U12, U10 and U8 sections with fewer than four girls may change the girls' first prize to a gold medal.

1 point for a win, ½ for a draw or 0 for a loss.
How to Qualify for The London Junior Chess Championships:
At this Wey Valley qualifying tournament, you will play six games during the day and no one will get knocked out.
Under 8 – 4 points or more out of 6 qualifies for the final: 29-30 December. |

Under 10 Minor – 3.5 or 4 points out of 6 qualifies for the final: 13-14 December. |

U14 – no qualification needed (Final 13-14 December). |

Players who qualify for a Major event may not play in the corresponding Minor event. |

Time Control:
In all sections there will be 6 rounds played with digital clocks on all boards. Clocks will be at a rate of all moves in 20 minutes plus 5 second increments per move per player.

Attention Parents: Can you help?
Photography and Live Broadcast Information (Junior Players)
During the tournament, photographs may be taken to create a photo gallery and may also be used by the Organiser for use on social media platforms. If live DGT boards are used, players should be aware that their games may be broadcast online.
By entering the tournament, players and their parents/guardians agree to these conditions. Photos in the playing hall are only allowed during the first five minutes of each round. If using a mobile phone to take pictures, it must be kept in flight mode at all times.
If a player or parent/guardian does not wish for the player to be photographed, please inform the Organiser before the tournament begins.
Behaviour, Parental Supervision & Disclaimers
We kindly ask all attendees to treat the venue with respect and to follow any posted signs and instructions.
A high standard of behaviour is expected at all times. Players should be quiet and considerate when entering or leaving the Playing Hall while games are in progress.
Smoking, vaping (including e-cigarettes), and alcohol consumption are strictly prohibited within the grounds.
Please note that Organisers and Arbiters cannot act in loco parentis. Parents, guardians, or carers are responsible for their children throughout the event.
The organiser accepts no liability for any damage, theft, or accidents involving persons or property during the event. We are also not responsible for the actions of other attendees.

Personal data is collected solely for the administration of this event and to keep you informed about future chess activities. Some data may be shared with the English Chess Federation and FIDE for rating purposes. Results, ratings, and photographs may be used on social media or in promotional materials unless you inform us otherwise.

This event is committed to fair play and follows the English Chess Federation’s Anti-Cheating Guidelines. All players are expected to compete honestly and uphold the integrity of the game.
Cheating of any kind—including the use of electronic devices, outside assistance, or software—is strictly prohibited. The Organisers reserve the right to take appropriate action if fair play violations are suspected.
Post-Tournament Complaints
We aim to provide a fair, enjoyable, and well-organised event for all participants. If you have any concerns or complaints following the tournament, you are welcome to submit them using the English Chess Federation’s official Post-Tournament Complaint Form.
This form allows players, parents, and guardians to raise issues formally and ensures that feedback is handled appropriately.
